# Our History

Three generations of craftsmanship, dedication, and love for the families we serve.

1957 

### The Beginning

Roy Ledbetter founds the monument company, beginning a family tradition of craftsmanship and service in Shelby, North Carolina.

1963 

### A Young Apprentice

At just 13 years old, Ron Ledbetter begins working alongside his father Roy, learning the art of monument crafting from the ground up.

1970 

### Carrying the Torch

After Roy's passing, Ron takes over the family business, continuing his father's legacy of quality and dedication to the community.

1994 

### A New Chapter

Ron and his wife Cathy rename the company to Riverhill Monument Company, marking a new era while honoring the family tradition. Both have served as presidents of Monument Builders of the Carolinas.

Present 

### The Third Generation

Robert "Robbie" Ledbetter now serves as President, carrying forward three generations of dedication to creating monuments of distinction for families across the region.
